Mangaluru, April 9, 2021 : “Au Revoir”, such a beautiful and meaningful phrase. Two of the most difficult things in life are saying “Hello” and bidding “Goodbye”.  The students of class 10, St. Theresa’s School in the city, assembled together to bid their Principal, teachers and friends adieu. It was a bittersweet moment for everyone who graced this occasion.

The Principal Sr Philomene, the Vice Principal Sr Lourdes, sisters and teachers of class IX organized a farewell program for the outgoing silver jubilee batch of class X, 2020-21 despite the difficulties faced due to the corona virus pandemic. A Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving was held at St. Sebastian Church, Bendur at 9a.m. The Mass was solemnized by Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro, the Parish Priest, who blessed the tenth grade students. It was a meaningful homily about establishing inner peace and long term focus and concentration on achieving goals. The Eucharistic celebration had a unique teachers choir which touched the hearts of the students. The students visited the tomb of Father Founder, the Servant of God R.F.C Mascarenhas, and sought his blessings.

The thanksgiving service was followed by a poignant farewell celebration held within the School premises. The teachers shared their experiences of teaching the batch and gave their blessings and best wishes for the upcoming board exams. The head boy Sonal D’Souza and head girl Anjali Singh expressed their gratitude and emotions on their farewell day. Six student representatives- Aliya Khan, Ricky roger, Saumya D’Souza, Luke Norohna, Thrisha and Abaan  shared their decade of memories with St. Theresa’s school. They placed on record their gratitude and appreciation towards the Management and teachers for their unstinting support during the pandemic.

The Principal in her message motivated all the students to focus on their studies, ward off distractions, to have a positive outlook on life and wished them the very best for their future endeavors. All students received a memento to remind them of their journey in St. Theresa’s School.
