Mangaluru, Mar 8 : International Women's Day on March 8th is a day to celebrate the social, economic and political achievements of women. This reflects the progress women are making in our society and heightened awareness has been created for gender equality. For over a hundred years, International Women's Day has put the spotlight on issues affecting women all over the world. Today, International Women's Day belongs to everyone who believes that women's rights are human rights and they must be adhered to, in all walks of life.

The auspicious day was celebrated in St. Raymond English Medium Hr. Pry. School Vamanjoor with a meaningful activity, fit for the occasion, to mark the importance of the day. The program was conducted by the 6th and 7th standard students, and was organized meaningfully, to bring out the importance of a woman to a household as well as the society. The program included the tableau on the rights of women, dance and an act on the importance of a girl child.

Later the school headmistress Sr. Rita Sharal conveyed a wonderful message regarding the importance of women in our lives. The program ended with a vote of thanks.

To conclude : It feels nice to have a day to celebrate the achievements of women. Thus, on this international women’s day, let’s recognize the significance of women in our lives and on society and inspire them for greater future achievements as well as contribute equally to the home, society, and nation.
