Mangaluru, Aug 26 : To enable the teachers perform to the tune of the time, Catholic Association of South Kanara organised teacher enrichment programme for the teachers of St. Agnes CBSE School on 25th August 2020, in the school premises. The programme started with inaugural function graced by the Chief Guest of the day, the Superior and the Joint Secretary of St. Agnes Institutions Sr. Dr. Lydia Fernandes A.C, Guest of Honour the Principal of St Agnes CBSE School Sr. Maria Gracilda A.C and the President of CASK Ms. Nayana Fernandes. Sr. Maria Gracilda A.C welcomed the president, coordinator and the office bearers of CASK.

Ms. Patsy Lobo, Senior Coordinator of the Teacher Foundation and Soft Skills Trainer gave a talk on ‘Collective Mindfulness’. She stressed on the importance of enhancing relationship with self and others.

International Banking Expert Mr. Archie Menezes spoke on ‘Personal Financial Management’ and guided the teachers towards different approaches of investments.

Ms. Bharathi Shevgoor, past President of Advanced Port Town Toastmasters Club spoke on ‘Impactful Communication and Public Speaking’. She gave guidelines to the teachers on basic aspects of public speaking.

Dr. Anand Periera, an environmentalist and climate change activist spoke on the ‘Impact of Climate Change on Wildlife’. He stressed on biodiversity, the problems associated with Western Ghats and the extinction of flora and fauna.

Dr. Derek Lobo, Retd Regional Adviser for South East Asia, United Nations - WHO discussed on ‘National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’. He emphasised that education system should be creative and skill based.

Ms. Usha Rao, former Principal Presidency School, Mangaluru, discussed on ‘Role of Teachers in Prevention of Suicide among Youths’.

The seminar concluded by awarding all the teachers with a certificate, memento and a sash in which qualities of the teachers’ were inscribed. Teachers Dora and Sumitra expressed words of gratitude on behalf of the staff of St. Agnes CBSE School.

Such programmes makes one believe that education is a never-ending process, they provide opportunities to the teachers to educate themselves, refine and update their knowledge.
