Vamanjoor, Aug 24, 2025 : St. Raymond's High School, Vamanjoor, organized a Cyber Crime Awareness Programme to equip students with the knowledge of safe and responsible use of the internet. The session was animated by Dr. Roshan Fernandes, Professor and Head of the Department of Cyber Security, NMAMIT, Nitte, and was attended by 80 participants.

Dr. Fernandes explained how the internet and social media platforms such as Google, Email, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Facebook have become part of our everyday lives, yet many remain unaware of the essentials of cyber safety. He created awareness on pressing issues such as email spoofing, malicious applications, cyber bullying, cyber grooming, online gaming risks, SIM swapping, and burner phones.

The participants were also informed about ways to report cyber crimes through the national helpline 1930 or the official website www.cybercrime.gov.in.

The programme was highly enriching and gave the students valuable insights into safeguarding themselves in the digital world. It encouraged them to become alert, responsible, and security-conscious users of technology.

At the conclusion of the programme, Bhagyashree delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the resource person and all who contributed to the success of the event.
