Mangaluru, Aug 19, 2025 : The hallowed premises of Sacred Hearts Primary School resonated with an air of patriotic fervour as the institution celebrated Independence Day with immense joy, dignity, and heartfelt reverence on August 15.
The program was began with high dignity the certain was raised to the celebration by singing singing ‘Vande Matharam’.
Remembering the valour and sacrifice of our freedom fighters, the correspondent, Sr M Cicilia Mendonca BS, proudly hoisted the national flag, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem and Flag song.

She spoke about the struggles and sacrifices made by the freedom fighters, encouraged the children to contribute positively to society. She also inspired teachers to motivate and guide students toward a brighter, more responsible future.
On this auspicious occasion, students of UKG and Grade 4 showcased their beautiful and mesmerizing talents. The meaningful performances were witnessed by esteemed guests, Rev Fr Vijaya Monteiro, the Assistant Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church Cordel, the Headmistress Sr Rita Sharal, PTA Vice President Mrs Sonia Lobo.
The programme was meticulously anchored by Mrs. Rose. The guests were cordially welcomed by Mrs Pavithra, and the event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Mrs Sharal.
