Allipade - Bantwal, Aug 16, 2025 : St Anthony English Medium School celebrated the 79th Independence Day in a grand manner with great enthusiasm and respect on August 15. The event was marked by a deep sense of patriotism and pride.
The dignitaries present for the programme were Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza, the Correspondent, Mr Naveen Moras, the Vice President, Mr Kiran Noronha, Secretary of the Church; SDMC President Mr Purushottama, Mr Vincent Pinto, Grama Panchayath member, Sr Lavina Veigas, Headmistress of St. Anthony English Medium; Ms Monthi Christine, the Headmistress of St. John’s Higher Primary School, ward Gurkars, and the members of the school management committee.
The programme began with a prayer song, seeking blessings for the country. The floral tribute was offered to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B. R. Ambedkar, honouring their invaluable contributions to the nation.

The National Flag was unfurled by the Correspondent, Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza, escorted by the student leader Disha and accompanied by all the dignitaries.
The students melodiously sang the Vande Mataram followed by the National Anthem. The school choir further added to the spirit of patriotism with the stirring song Janda Uncha Rahe Hamara, which filled the atmosphere with patriotism.
Fathima Bashila of Class 7 delivered a thoughtful speech on the importance of Independence Day, capturing the essence of the sacrifices made for the country’s freedom.
The President of the function Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza, in his address, emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and responsibility among students as they are the future of the nation.
The Proclamation was done by student Kushanth R. Shetty, adding a formal and inspiring touch to the celebration.
Ms Sowmya, teacher of St John’s Primary School delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the event a success.
The programme was smoothly and efficiently compered by Ms Sareena and Ms Deepika.
The occasion witnessed active participation from the students, teachers, parents and people of Allipade Church, collectively expressing their love and reverence for the nation on this momentous day. The programme concluded with joy and pride in every heart.
The sweets were distributed to all the gathered people.
