Mangaluru, July 16, 2025 : To honour and celebrate the beauty of Mother Nature, Sacred Hearts' Pre Primary School joyfully celebrated Vanamahotsava and Green Day with great enthusiasm and excitement.
The day began with a cheerful Green Day song sung by the tiny tots, setting a joyful and eco-friendly tone for the morning. Following this, our teacher gave a simple yet informative explanation about different types of plants, flowers, fruits, and trees, using real samples and props. It was an innovative and engaging way to help the children learn about nature.

A special moment followed where a sapling was planted, symbolizing growth and our love for greenery. Then, our beloved Headmistress was invited to make a thumbprint on a large paper tree, marking her contribution to nature. All the teachers also came forward one by one to imprint their thumbs, making the activity meaningful and memorable.
The celebration continued with the LKG children confidently speaking a few lines about Green Day, showing their understanding and joy. The Pre-Nursery children sang a beautiful rhyme dedicated to greenery, leaving everyone smiling.
Our Headmistress then shared a few thoughtful words, emphasizing the importance of Green Day and gently encouraged everyone to plant at least one tree in their lifetime as a gift to our Earth.
Various exciting classroom activities were also conducted:
• Leaf Teddy Bear craft
• Finger and leaf printing art
All the children looked adorable and vibrant in their green dresses, happily participating and learning about nature in a fun-filled way. The day was not only educational but also helped the children develop love and respect for the environment.
It truly was a green and grand celebration, planting smiles, growing memories, and spreading greenery all around!
