Udupi - July 14 : St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE) held its Annual General Body Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association on July 12, 2025. The chief guest for the event was Dr Anoop Shetty, Consultant Physician at Hi-Tech and Mitra Hospitals, Udupi. The occasion was also graced by the joint secretary of the institution – Sr Preethi Crasta A.C., the Superior of St Cecily’s Convent- Sr Priya A.C., and the P.T.A. Vice President 2024-’25- Ms Shamil Quadros.

The programme commenced with a devotional prayer song by the melodious school choir followed by a vibrant welcome dance by the school’s enigmatic dancers. The principal, Sr. Lathika A.C. extendeda warm welcome to the gathering and introduced the chief guest.

After a proud moment of honouring the top scorers of the CBSE Board Examination 2024-’25, the chief guest, Dr Anoop Shetty delivered the key-note address in which he emphasized the importance of nurturing every child’s emotional quotient (EQ), social quotient (SQ) and adaptability alongside the intelligence quotient (IQ). While highlighting the significance of academic performance, he encouraged the inclusion of creative activities in children’s lives. He also raised concern about the adverse effects of excessive screen time and fast food, citing their impact on developmental and health issues among today’s children. His insightful address was both enlightening and empowering for parents and teachers alike.

Ms Cecilia presented the concise report of the PTA executive committee 2024-25 while Mrs Evenish shared the audited financial statement of accounts for that year. Ms Jenifer along with Ms Ashalatha presented a brief overview of various committees working towards the school’s growth and well-being.

The session proceeded with the selection of members for the PTA Executive committee 2025-26. Ms Nancy proposed a heartfelt vote of thanks.

The event concluded with the entire auditorium resonating to the chords the National Anthem.
