Moodbidri, July 3 : Van Mahotsav, the annual tree-planting festival of India, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 3rd July 2025 at Carmel School. The programme was hosted by grade X students with a theme 'Rooted in Nature; Growing in Gratitude' which began with a symbolic prayer service, communing with the creator of the universe.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of trees and to promote environmental protection among students.
Master Ashley Miranda accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest RFO Moodbidri Mr. Kiran Kumar G and the gathering. The mystery of nature and environment and the importance of preserving nature was elucidated by the students with a meaningful skit followed by dance. Further, the students took pledge to preserve nature.

The chief guest for the event RFO Moodbidri Mr. Kiran Kumar G in his address highlighted the significance of tree plantation in combating climate change and maintaining ecological balance. His inspiring words motivated the students to take small but meaningful steps towards a greener planet.
Following the speech, a tree plantation drive was conducted in the school campus. Students, sisters, teachers, and guests together planted fruit saplings and the students took responsibility for its care and growth throughout the year.
Master Mohammad Safwan proposed the vote of thanks. Miss Clarissa DCosta and Miss Disha Sanil skillfully compered the program helping smooth flow of the event.
