Udupi, June 28, 2025: The kindergarteners of St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School, (CBSE), Udupi blended with Mother Nature on the occasion of Nature Carnival Day.

This unique festival celebrated by the Cecilian tiny tots fostered a deep sense of Environmental awareness and love for Nature. Dressed in green, students and teachers radiated a spirit of unity and harmony with gracious Nature.

The celebration commenced with a special assembly highlighting the importance of protecting Mother Earth. Four students accorded a gracious welcome to the Kindergarten Coordinator, Sr Priya with a sapling. The event was inaugurated by watering the sapling with a meaningful quote about nurturing and owning responsibility. A melodious prayer song kindled reflective tone seeking blessings upon the perennial provider – Mother Nature. The UKG students enacted a meaningful skit on "sowing and germination", to educate their peers about the process of seed growth. A beautiful action song by the Play school kids celebrated the elements of Nature -Earth, water, air and sunlight. LKG students added galore to the festival by showcasing their creativity with the "Save Our Environment" flash card displays.

The formal programme concluded with the Coordinator- Sr Priya delivering an encouraging message on saving water, electricity, and food.

After the enlightening formal programme, followed a volley of various meaningfully curated engaging activities aiming to promote environmental awareness and appreciation for Nature. Students from all kindergarten classes actively participated in the planting saplings and watering them This initiative was intended not only to beautify the surroundings but also instil a sense of environmental stewardship from a young age. A refreshing Nature- walk, enabled students to appreciate and explore the natural world. Every student participated in an individual colouring activity that encouraged creativity and self-expression.

Unique activities such as sowing seeds , planting saplings, creating leaf imprints on a large tree chart, and hand prints, paper roll print, sticking mango leaves on the large tree chart to explore texture and pattern, identifying green fruits and vegetables combined fun, learning, teamwork, and sensory exploration—making the day both memorable and meaningful. Students also brought fresh veggies, like cucumber, and prepared salads which was included in their mid-day meals. This heightened the joy in the kids.

‘Nature Carnival Day’ celebration was truly a blend of fun and education for the kindergarten students. It nurtured creativity, team work and most importantly, a growing respect for the environment- planting the seeds of eco- consciousness in the hearts and minds of the youngest Cecilians.
