Udupi, June 14 : An awareness programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) was conducted for the staff of St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi on 12th June 2025.

The session began with a warm welcome note by Ms Rani, who introduced the esteemed resource person, Mrs Prajna Sunil, an eminent lawyer and expert in legal matters related to cheque bouncing and family disputes.

Mrs Prajna provided the teachers with valuable insights into the POSH Act, highlighting its importance in today’s work culture. She explained the need for anPOSH committee in institutions and organisations, as mandated by law, to ensure a safe and respectful work environment for all women.

Emphasising that every woman has the fundamental right to live and work with dignity, Mrs Prajna underscored that any form of sexual harassment at the workplace is a grave offence. The POSH Act, she affirmed, plays a crucial role in safeguarding women employees from such misconduct and ensuring justice.

The session proved to be an enlightening and empowering experience for the teaching faculty of this prestigious institution, where women constitute the majority of the workforce.

The programme concluded with a gracious vote of thanks proposed by Ms Benita, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the resource person for her informative and impactful session.
