Udupi, June 12, 2025 : Students of Grades VII to X at St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, participated in an insightful Cyber Security Awareness Programme aimed at promoting safe and responsible use of social media, on June 11.
The session was led by Mr Ramachandra Nayak and Mr Neelesh, police officials from the CEN (Cybercrime, Economic Offences, and Narcotics) Department of Udupi Police Station. Over the course of an hour and a half, the resource persons shed light on the alarming ways in which both youth and adults can fall victim to cyber threats. They also shared practical safety measures to help students stay protected in the digital space.

The discussion emphasized the importance of using social media apps wisely, with a clear reminder that such platforms must be handled with caution and used only when necessary. Students were strongly advised to channel their time and energy into academic goals instead of getting distracted by mobile games and apps.
Sharan of Grade X warmly welcomed the dignitaries, while the Principal, Sr Lathika A.C. offered a symbolic sapling as a gesture of gratitude and respect. Following the session, Vanshika of Grade X delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the valuable insights shared by the resource persons.
The session proved to be both eye-opening and empowering, equipping the young Cecilians with the knowledge to navigate the digital world safely and sensibly.
