Moodbidri, June 6, 2025 : Carmel School, Moodbidri, joyously ushered in the new academic year with a grand and heartwarming inaugural ceremony held on June 2. Beautifully organized by the students of Class IX, the event radiated energy and optimism, blending tradition with inspiration and setting the stage for a year filled with promise.

The day began on a solemn note with a prayer service, invoking divine blessings for a fruitful academic journey ahead. This was followed by a melodious prayer song and the symbolic presentation of five meaningful elements — light, a book, sacred texts, a plant, and a globe — each representing knowledge, wisdom, growth, harmony, and global awareness. These symbols reaffirmed the values that form the foundation of the Carmel community.

A key highlight was the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the dawning of knowledge. This significant act was carried out by Sr Lilly Pushpa A.C., the Principal; Sr Preena A.C., the Vice Principal; Sr Elena A.C., the Administrator; Sr Ranitha A.C. and Sr Rosy A.C., the Coordinators; alongside Sir Prajwal and Tr Asha, teacher representatives. Student leaders Jacob James (Assistant Head Boy) and Glenson John (Head Boy) added youthful energy and leadership to the moment.

Jacob James delivered a warm and gracious welcome to the dignitaries, staff, and students, setting a respectful and enthusiastic tone for the event.

Principal Sr Lilly Pushpa A.C. addressed the gathering with an inspiring and motivational message. She urged students to embrace the joy of learning, maintain sincerity in their efforts, and make the most of the opportunities ahead. She also extended a heartfelt welcome to the newly appointed teachers, expressing confidence in their contribution to the Carmel vision.

A truly touching moment came when Sr Lilly Pushpa A.C. personally visited the Kindergarten classrooms. With immense warmth and care, she welcomed the tiny tots who were stepping into a school environment for the very first time. To make the moment memorable, the school organized a creative welcome for the little ones — sweets were distributed, the children were cheerfully greeted with colorful decorations, and a group photo session was held to capture their innocent smiles and the joy of new beginnings. Adding to their excitement, the little ones were treated to a special movie screening, creating a magical first-day experience filled with laughter and delight.

Later, during the ceremony, newly admitted students from higher grades were called on stage by the Principal and blessed with kind words and encouraging messages. This thoughtful gesture ensured that each new member of the Carmel family felt seen, appreciated, and lovingly embraced into the community.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, recognizing the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The celebration ended on a patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem, which echoed through the campus with pride and unity.

With renewed spirit, warm welcomes, and a firm commitment to excellence, Carmel School begins yet another year of nurturing young minds — rooted in values, led by compassion, and driven by a vision for holistic education.
