Udupi, June 6 : St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, hosted an enlightening two-day Parent Orientation Programme, reinforcing the vital role of parents as collaborators in their child’s academic and personal growth.

The sessions was organized for parents of Grades VII to X on 4th June 2025 and Grades III to VI on 5th June 2025. The distinguished resource person for both days was the renowned academician, Mr Mathew C Ninan, Director, Little Rock Indian school, Brahmavar.

Each day’s programme commenced with solemn prayer rendered by the melodious school choir. Teachers Jenifer and Teena warmly introduced the guest speaker and according a warm welcome to all on the respective days. As a gesture of gratitude and respect, the School Principal, Sr Lathika A.C., presented a loving token of appreciation to Mr. Ninan.

In his thought provoking address, Mr Mathew Ninan, highlighted the many advantages of CBSE system of education especially the learner centric flexibility of its curriculum which not only equips students to fare well in any competitive examinations in future but also promotes their holistic development. He also praised the excellent infrastructure and dedicated faculty of St Cecily’s, affirming that the school truly meets the standards expected of a CBSE-affiliated institution.

He also urged parents to be vigilant about their children’s screen time especially mobile phones and also protect them from the menace of drugs and substance abuse which loom at large in society.

Following the keynote session, Teachers Seema and Prachi provided clarity on the internal assessment marking scheme and introduced the Sugar Board project- an initiative to monitor and curb excessive sugar consumption in students with a motive of maintaining healthy lifestyles in students.

The sessions concluded with heartfelt votes of thanks delivered by Teachers Nisha and Ashwitha, expressing deep gratitude to the resource person, parents, and the school leadership for making the programme a grand success.
