Moodbidri , May 25 : Carmel School Moodbidri successfully conducted its much-anticipated Staff Enrichment Program on May 22 and 23, 2025, marking a significant stride in professional development and collaborative growth among educators. This two-day event aimed at empowering teachers with new insights, pedagogical strategies, and motivational tools to further strengthen the teaching-learning process.

The program witnessed full participation from the faculty members of the Carmel School campus, including educators from Holy Rosary PU College and the High School section. The event commenced on a spiritual note with a soulful prayer song, invoking divine blessings for a fruitful gathering.

Sr. Lilly Pushpa A.C., the newly appointed Principal, formally inaugurated the program with a warm and gracious welcome address. Tr. Shobha D. Then introduced and welcomed the distinguished resource person, Prof. Victor Allen Sudhakar, a seasoned academician with over 32 years of experience in English, Economics, and Accountancy. He holds a Master’s Degree in English and a Postgraduate Diploma in the Teaching of English. A symbolic gesture of gratitude was made by presenting him with a potted plant, signifying growth and inspiration.

Mr. Vasant Poojary, Senior Business Partner, was also warmly welcomed by Sr. Lilly Pushpa A.C. with a bouquet of flowers. Additionally, Sr. Preena A.C., the Vice Principal, extended a heartfelt welcome to the newly appointed Principal, Sr. Lilly Pushpa A.C., also presenting her with a bouquet.

Day 1: Personality Development and Child Psychology

The first day featured an insightful session by Prof. Victor Allen Sudhakar on Personality Development and Child Psychology. He emphasized the importance of entering the classroom with positivity and a genuine smile, understanding each child’s unique needs and challenges, and creating a holistic and supportive learning environment. He stressed the role of the teacher in identifying a child’s strengths and nurturing them with compassion and creativity.

The session was highly engaging, enhanced with interactive games, PowerPoint presentations, and open discussions, making it a thoroughly enriching experience for all participants.

Day 2: Phonetics, Grammar, and the Teaching of Poetry

The second day focused on Phonetics, Grammar, and effective strategies for teaching poetry. Prof. Sudhakar outlined several key teaching principles:
* Tailoring input slightly above the learners’ current level
* Sustaining student motivation
* Reducing fear and anxiety in the classroom
* Engaging multiple senses in the learning process
* Challenging learners to push their limits
* Encouraging active speaking and writing opportunities

These insights aimed to equip educators with practical tools and frameworks to foster a dynamic and responsive classroom atmosphere. The session helped teachers set clear, realistic goals for their students and inspired them to adopt a student-centered, joyful approach to learning.

The entire program was elegantly compered by Tr. Shaila Pereira, whose poise and coordination ensured the smooth flow of events. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sir Prajwal Pereira, expressing deep appreciation to the resource persons, organizers, and participants for making the session a grand success.
