Mangaluru, Jan 12 : ‘Road Safety is an issue that affects everyone, and the consequences of unsafe driving practices can be devastating.’

On National Road Safety Day, Lourdes Central School organised a Session on the importance of Road Safety for the students of Class VIII on 11th January 2024 at 8:15 am in the AV Room by Ms Geetha D. Kulkarni, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic Sub- Division, Mangaluru City.

The Session commenced with a Prayer Song sung by the students of Class 8.

At the very outset Rishika S. Ballal of Class 8A, welcomed the Resource person, followed by the introduction of the ACP by Thanvi Shetty of Class 8A.

Addressing the students, the resource person stated that the Road Safety Week is being observed from 11th – 17th January to promote and educate safe driving practices. She gave her valuable inputs on the importance of road safety rules. She said that awareness of the road rules is vital for the safety of all. Safety of every individual is paramount on the road; whether you are riding a bicycle, car etc. It is mandatory that one should wear a helmet, seat belt and abstain from using a mobile phone while driving.She made students repeat the slogan “I Follow Traffic Rules”.

Ms Geetha D. Kulkarni, Assistant Commissioner of Police was felicitated with a shawl and memento by the Principal Rev Fr Robert Dsouza.

The session was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Pranjal B of Class 8A.

The program was compered by Bhoomika S. Anchan of Class 8A.
