Bantwal, Sep 8, 2023 : “Guru Namana” the teachers’ day celebration was held with love and respect at Loretto English Medium High School. In collaboration with the Kannada Medium, the English Medium High School Management Committee, Parent Teacher Association and the Students of both the schools made the day memorable.

In the morning hours , various games and activities were conducted at the school ground. The children cheered the teachers and the teachers became students for the time being on the ground. After the food, the programme was arranged in the Loretto Auditorium.

Rev Fr Francis Crasta presided the function. The programme began with the prayer dance and lightening the lamp and offering the flowers to the portrait of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The mementos and the prizes were distributed to the teachers. Correspondent in his speech highlighted the importance of the teacher and specified what is the role and duty of a teacher. He elaborated with the story of Ekalavya and Dhronacharya. Rev Fr Jason Monis Principal LEMHS, Sr Idoline Rodrigues Headmistress Kannada Medium, Mr Cypriyan Dsouza Vice President Parish Council, Mr Sachin Noronha PTA Vice President were present on the dais. The management committee and Parent Teacher Association members and parents were present for the function.

Soon after the formal function, the students of both the schools performed various cultural activities. They added the color to the celebration. Student Rithisha Veigas and Preethan Dsouza compered the programme. Miss Nobel welcomed and Ishitha Miranda proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was put up under the guidance of PTA, Management and Teacher Miss Marina and Mrs Clara Moras.
