Puttur, Aug 21 : ICYM members of Kadaba celebrated Youth Sunday by conducting liturgy for the holy mass and organized ‘Laudatuo si Sunday’ Vana Mahotsav along with Ecology Commission at St. Joachim’s church hall on Sunday, 14th August 2022. The programme commenced at 10.00 am with the prayer song.

Parish priest and ICYM director Rev Fr. Arun Wilson Lobo, Rev Dr. Robert Crasta, Chief guests Mr. Jayakumar and Mr. Ajith Kumar – Deputy Forest Range officers, Convent superior Sr. Gretta, JMJ superior Sr. Clara, Parish council vice-president Mr. Simon Louis Rodrigues, Parish council secretary and ICYM animator Mr. James Crishal Dsouza, ICYM president Cristal Cross, ICYM secretary Sinthya Alphonsa Dsouza were present on the dais.

The programme was inaugurated by handing over the saplings to chief guests.

ICYM president Cristal Cross welcomed the gathering. Mr. Aneesh lobo hosted the programme.

Mr. Jayakumar and Mr. Ajith Kumar, chief guests of the day delivered a message regarding forest conservation and saving the environment.

Parish priest delivered an insightful message regarding planting trees and maintaining a balanced environment and also appreciated the ICYM for organising the programme.

Thereafter, saplings were handed to dignitaries who planted the saplings along with ICYM members around church premises and saplings were distributed to all the parishioners as a symbol of Vanamahotsav.

The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks by unit secretary Sinthya Dsouza.
