Mangaluru, Aug 19 : ICYM Mariashram unit celebrated 75th independence day and feast of Assumption in Mariashram church on 15th August 2022 starting with holy eucharistic celebration at 7am. 

Prizes were distributed to winners and runners of quiz competition conducted on 14th August, followed by flag hoisting ceremony.

Prayer was led by ICYM members and they also performed a flashmob.

Fr Jerald Pinto, the parish priest and Director of ICYM mariashram unit , Mr Francis the parish vice-president, Mrs Maria D'Souza the parish secretary , ICYM animator Mr Francis and Br Stany were the guests of the programme.

ICYM sports secretary Shanan Pais led the march-fast and the parish priest hoisted the flag. ICYM president Lanson D'Souza read the preamble.

On this occasion , ICYM conducted interward throwball and volleyball tournament for the parishioners.

Payer was led by ICYM members. 

Rev Fr Anil Avild Lobo, the ICYM director of Kasaragod deanery was the chief guest. Maxi Dsouza the president of ICYM Kasaragod deanery and Sr Sofia, Br Stany, the executive committee of Kasaragod deanery and parish priest Rev Fr Jerald Pinto were the guests for the tournament.

7 wards participated in this tournament and all went on smoothly.

Throwball winners : 

First - St Alphonsa ward
Second - Assumption ward

Volleyball winners :

First - St Sebastian ward
Second- St Antony ward

Fr Jerald pinto distributed prizes to the winners and runners.

The tournament concluded with ICYM song.
