At the Vatican, the Jubilee was described as a year of grace that allowed pilgrims to return home full of hope. Their experience in the Eternal City also represents a long-term investment in Rome that will extend beyond the Jubilee year. Archbishop Rino Fisichella, pro-prefect for the Dicastery for Evangelization, marked the end of the Jubilee Year, which brought more than 33 million faithful from 185 countries to Rome. Of those pilgrims, Americans were the second-most represented nationality.
