This brilliant German-Jewish philosopher became a Carmelite nun who embraced the “knowledge of the Cross.” A co-patron of Europe whose feast is celebrated on August 9, she offered her life and her martyrdom at Auschwitz for the sake of the suffering Jewish people and for the peace of the world.
