Pope Leo XIV has been staying at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo for one week, reviving a tradition not seen since Pope Benedict XVI’s last visit in 2012. Locals and pilgrims expressed great joy at seeing the Pope return to greet them in person. Sunday Mass was held at the Church of St. Thomas of Villanova, where Pope Leo reflected on the Parable of the Good Samaritan. After Mass, the Pope joined pilgrims in the square, inspiring excitement among those gathered. During the Angelus prayer, Pope Leo thanked the authorities of Castel Gandolfo for their warm welcome, reminding Christians to care for others with love. EWTN’s Magdalena Wolinska-Riedi has more.
