April 17, 2026 : On his fourth day in Africa on April 16, Pope Leo XIV traveled from Yaoundé to Bamenda in Cameroon for a day dedicated to justice and peace.

After being welcomed by local authorities, the pope proceeded to the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Bamenda for an encounter for peace with the local community.

Pope Leo later made his way to Bamenda airport, greeting pilgrims from the popemobile. Before more than 20,000 people, he celebrated Holy Mass for peace and justice and highlighted the challenges facing the region.
