Oct. 28, 2025 : The Jubilee of Roma, Sinti, and Travellers was a major Catholic event held in Rome on October 18, 2025, as part of the broader Jubilee Year. Around 4,000 pilgrims from over 70 countries gathered to celebrate their faith under the theme "Hope is itinerant," which was inspired by the biblical story of Abraham's journey.
The event featured an audience with Pope Leo XIV, musical performances, and moments of prayer and reflection.
Pope Leo recalled that the Jubilee event comes 60 years after Pope Paul VI’s historic meeting in 1965 with itinerant peoples in Pomezia, during which he crowned an image of Our Lady as “Queen of the Roma, Sinti, and Travellers.”
Pope reaffirmed the Church’s desire to walk alongside their communities through pastoral ministers, while inviting them to embrace the dignity of the family, work, and prayer.
