The 26th major Jubilee event, the Jubilee of Catechists, was held in Rome from 26 to 28 September 2025, drawing over 20,000 catechists from 115 countries.
The Jubilee events are dedicated to those who daily engage in catechesis, teaching the faith to people of all ages and walks of life. They represent diocesan and national catechetical offices and the Episcopal Conferences of their home countries.
The gathering celebrated the global mission of catechists—men and women committed to sharing the Gospel and nurturing faith in communities around the world.
Pope Leo addressed the assembly: "When we teach the faith, we do not merely give instructions, but we place the word of life in hearts, so that it may bear the fruits of a good life." He also emphasized the foundational role of parents as the first catechists and the importance of faith formation beginning in the home.
Catechists from around the world underscored the essential role they play, especially in increasingly secular societies, helping families and individuals encounter Christ.
