Davanagere, Sep 2 : The third day's Novena at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica in Harihara, Davanagere district, Diocese of Shimoga, commenced with a rosary, procession, and Novena led by Rector and Parish Priest Fr. George K.A. at 5:30 pm on September 1.

At 6pm Monsignor Very Rev. Fr. Elias Sequiera, Vicar General of the Diocese of Chikmagalur, offered the Holy Eucharist. In his homily, he emphasized that "The comfort of Jesus Christ is the key to hope," highlighting Jesus as our guarantee for salvation and eternal life.

Monsignor Elias Sequiera reflected on Luke 7:11-17, the story of the widow of Nain, showcasing Jesus' compassion and divine authority in bringing hope to those in despair. He encouraged the faithful to increase their faith in Lord Jesus Christ, emphasizing that God's word is a guarantee for attaining eternal life. He also highlighted John 3:16 as a strong source of faith and mentioned the gift of the Holy Spirit.

After the Mass, Fr. Elias Sequiera led the benediction, and priests prayed over the pilgrims. Floral homage was paid to Harihara Matha, followed by food being served to all.

The event was a significant spiritual experience for the devotees, fostering a deeper connection with their faith and the message of hope embodied by Our Lady of Health.
