Shivamogga, June 11, 2025 : Christ the King Parish, Jogfalls observed Pentecost Day and Environmental Day with reverence and active participation, fostering a spirit of faith and unity within the community.
On Saturday, June 7th, the eve of Pentecost, the parish observed Pentecost Day with a one-hour Eucharistic Adoration service. This period of prayer and reflection focused on the Holy Spirit's descent upon the Apostles. The service, conducted with reverence and solemnity, served as a reminder of the Holy Spirit's ongoing presence and work within our lives and the Church. The purpose of this Adoration was to strengthen our spiritual commitment, seek divine guidance, and cultivate unity and renewal within our parish.

In fulfillment of our Christian commitment to environmental stewardship, we observed World Environment Day on June 8th with a significant sustainability initiative. Following the Holy Mass, members of ICYM, YCS, PPC, and the parish community actively participated in planting fourteen saplings on church grounds and in adjacent areas.
This initiative demonstrates our commitment to the principles outlined in Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si', emphasizing the protection of our shared environment, and was designed to cultivate environmental stewardship among our community.
These events underscore the interconnectedness of spiritual renewal and environmental stewardship. Our parish is therefore called to both prayerful reflection and active engagement, honoring the Holy Spirit and preserving God's creation.
They express our sincere gratitude to all participants and supporters of these events. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our faith and our commitment to environmental stewardship.
