Mangaluru, Oct 29 : As a preparation for the annual parish feast, the parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail observed the Confraternity Sunday on the 27th of October, 2019. The Eucharistic Celebration commenced at 04:30 PM. Rev. Fr Joseph Martis celebrated the mass along with Rev. Fr Austin Peter Peres (Parish Priest) and Rev. Fr Gratian Alvares (Resident). Rev Fr Joseph Martis in his Homily highlighted the significance of the day by stating how the participation of parishioners in various events of the church lead to its success.

After the mass a solemn procession bearing the Holy Sacrament and various tableaux along with the parishioners set forth from the church premise to Konchady via Kuntikan and back to the church. The choir of Most Holy Redeemer Church sang hymns in praise of the Almighty. Hymns were sung in Konkani, English, Hindi and Kannada. The procession with parishioners clad in white and with candles in the hand indeed sent across the message of peace and solidarity that the Catholic Church believes and upholds. After the procession a short prayer service was conducted by Fr. Joseph Martis.

The entire celebration was brought to a closure with the parishioners dancing to the brass band. Refreshments were served to the parishioners. Indeed the Confraternity Sunday has set open the week of festivity.
