Mangaluru, July 28: A Seminar on ‘Effects of Drug Addiction’ was held in St Sebastian P U College Auditorium on Sunday 28 July 2019 at 9 a.m. This was  organised by Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) - Central council, Mangalore South Deanery and all the Units along with St Sebastian Church Permannur. 

Rev. Fr J.B Saldanha, Parish Priest was the Chief Guest of the Program. The other Guests present were Mrs. Lydia Lobo Administrator of LINK De-addition and Counseling Centre Mangalore, Mr. Ganesh Nayak Mulki Social worker, Mr. Melvin C D Souza Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council and Mr. Ronald Fernandes, Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Heads of the Educational Institutions Sr Anitha and Mr. Cyril, Mr. Ronald Serrao, Convener of the Program, Mr. Naveen Brags, Secretary, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), Mr. Dolphy D Souza, President and Mr. Naveen Felix D Souza, Secretary of Permannur Unit and all the Presidents of Catholic Sabha Mangalore South Deanery.



















The Program began with a prayer dance by students of St Sebastian English Medium School, Permannur and welcome dance by the students of Holy Angels School, Permannur. Mr. Felix D Souza welcomed the gathering. Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh President Rolphy DCosta introduced the topic of the seminar to the gathering followed by short inaugural ceremony by the guests of the day.

The chief guest Rev. Fr J. B. Saldanha addressed the gathering. In his speech , Father cautioned the parents to spend more time with their wards, thus preventing them from falling prey to any form of addiction. Mr. Ganesh Mulki was then honored for his selfless service to the Society. Mr. Naveen Felix D Souza proposed vote of thanks. As mementos, saplings were awarded to all the guests. Mr. Joslyn Dsouza emceed the program.










































Resource Persons of the day Mrs. Lydia Lobo and Mr. Ganesh Mulki delivered thought-provoking speeches on the topic ill-effects of drug addictions. A meaningful and inspiring skit was enacted by the members of ICYM and YCS Unit, Ammebal.

Nearly 500 students, youth and parents attended the program.
