Shirthady mission station was served from Taccode from 1837 to 1938. When Naravi Mission began to work independently in 1905, Shirtady was served from Naravi and from Taccode also. Finally Shirthady was made an independent parish in 1928. Even after Shirthady was made an independent parish, no resident Parish Priest was appointed till 1938. Hence again the Parish Priests from Taccode used to render their service to Shirthady till 1938.
