Mangaluru, Oct 1 : To commemorate the birth anniversary of Venerable Mother Veronica and Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, St. Agnes CBSE School gathered together to celebrate the event on 30th September 2020. The Superior and Joint Secretary of St. Agnes Institutions Sr. Dr. Lydia Fernandes A.C was the Chief Guest.

The Principal Sr. Maria Gracilda A.C, Vice Principal Sr. Meera Dsouza A.C and Sr. Sweedal Fernandes A.C. began the programme by conducting a meaningful prayer service. As a symbol of dedication and commitment, the teachers lit a candle and presented on the dais as a mark of respect and honour to the great visionaries Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Venerable Mother Veronica. A powerpoint presentation on the topic “ The heart of a teacher” by Paula Fox was screened during the prayer service. The principal welcomed the Chief Guest and the teachers, she then gave a inspiring message through a video presentation of a teacher who won the heart of the students.

Thereafter, the event began formally by handing over the bookmark to the Chief Guest by the principal Sr.Maria Gracilda A.C. The teachers in turn exchanged the bookmarks prepared by them highlighting the positive qualities of the other co-teachers. As the day was celebrated to remember 197th birth anniversary of Venerable Mother Veronica, the Principal Sr. Maria Gracilda A.C gave a brief introduction on her life and vision. A song on Mother Veronica was sung by all in unison honouring the great Carmelite who first began the education of young women in India. The stage setting, backdrop and bulletin board was creatively decorated in an enthralling manner befitting the event.

The students of grade X virtually presented a power point presentation thanking the hardwork of the teachers for their continuous effort in not letting the studies of the students behind to get affected in this pandemic. The Principal Sr. Maria Gracilda A.C, Vice Principal Sr. Meera Dsouza A.C and Sr. Sweedal Fernandes A.C. greeted the teachers by singing a wishing song. The Chief Guest Sr. Dr. Lydia Fernandes A.C gave a message on the significance of the day and thanked the teachers for their relentless effort in moulding the future young generation. The management recognised the hardwork and dedication of the entire staff towards the institution. The staff later indulged themselves in fun filled activities by conducting group games.

Tr. Josephine Ignetto expressed her sincere gratitude towards the principal and the management on behalf of all the teaching and non-teaching staff.
