Chitradurga, Sep 6 : Assumption Schools, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District (Diocese of Shimoga) celebrated Teachers' Day in a simple way. Management held a prayer service to pray for the teachers as well as for the nation at 7:30am on Sep 5, 2020.

A brief introduction was done by Mr. Janardhan H.C. Prayer song was led by Kannada Higher Primary School. Mrs. Anitha H.C. welcomed the Manager, HMs and teachers. Manager and Correspondent Fr Franklin D'Souza did the honoring by garlanding for the photo of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Assumption English Medium Primary School HM Sr. Succorina Lorenzo led the prayer service.

In his message, Fr Franklin D'Souza told that, "We are celebrating Teachers' Day without students. Yet we shouldn't lose hope". He asked everyone to pray so that God Almighty will bring us out of this pandemic. He also told that , "Being teachers we should inculcate the quality of patience, forgiveness and compassion. We can win everything with love". Then he blessed the gathering.

Assumption English Medium High School HM Fr Nelson D'Souza composed a beautiful Hymn based on Teachers and Students. Track was played for the teachers. It was a very touching song.

Sr. Alwyn from Kannada Higher Primary School thanked everyone. Mr. Janardhan H.C. compered the programme.
