Mangaluru, Oct. 2 : An assembly was held on 2nd October 2019 in St Theresa’s School, Bendur here, to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji and to pay tribute to the warrior of truth and non-violence.

The chief guest Mr Rajesh G, Principal Sr Philomene Saldanha, Vice Principal Sr Lourdes, Headboy Matthew Saldanha and Headgirl Snehal Castelino paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation.

The programme commenced with a prayer and a song sung by the students. Simran Christy Serrao of Class X delivered a speech on Mahatma Gandhi.

To feel the pride of being a part of such a glorious nation, the students of Std VIII made it memorable with their dance movements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As a part of cleanliness drive, the students of Std X put up a street play creating an awareness of precautions to be taken to protect us from the deadly fever dengue.

The chief guest Sir Rajesh G in his speech emphasized on the importance of celebrating Gandhi Jayanti. He spoke of Gandhiji as a symbol of peace and non-violence.

The assembly proved to be an effective method of enlightening the students about the role played by Mahatma Gandhiji in the Indian freedom struggle and reconstruction of the diverse nation.
