Mangaluru, Feb 8 , 2023 : Safety awareness will bring in a lot of happiness.

To commemorate the Safer Internet Day on Feb 7th, St Agnes CBSE school organised a session on ‘Cyber Safety’ for the students of grade VIII to X.

The Resource Person was Rev. Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes providing his service as a Priest at Diocese of Mangalore. He has obtained his Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication degree from St Aloysius College Mangalore and currently he is the Director of Canara Communication Centre . He is an expert in Audio Editing , Film Making and Documentaries . He has conducted several guest lectures on Media Education, Digital wellbeing and Cyber Security.

Fr. Anil the resource person shared his knowledge to the students on various important topics such as safe websites, the surface, deep and dark sites and various threats, reasons etc. The links exposed to hackers and how to find safe pages and websites were made aware to the students. Importance of antivirus, privacy and protection with using strong passwords to save confidentiality were some of the important aspects discussed and created awareness to the students. In the end question and hour session students clarified their doubts which were well responded by the resource person.

Several other activities were also planned for the students such as Poster making on Cyber Security for grade VI to VIII and an awareness rally with slogans from grade V and VI to mark the significance of the day.

The Management congratulates the Principal , the staff and students for creating awareness and taking initiation to conduct this session and activities.
