Udupi, 18 Jul 2017: Pangla parishioners of St. John’s Evangelist Church celebrated feast of Mother of Perpetual succour in a grand manner on Sunday July 16, 2017.

In the morning, a large number of parishioners gathered in St. John the Evangelist church for the Holy Mass celebrated by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves and other priests.

In the evening, a special cultural program was arranged by ICYM and YCS units of Pangla Parish titled “Moriye Sangi Ek Sanz" (an evening with Mother Mary). It was a unique cultural event wherein all associations of the parish presented a program each of 10 mnts duration. The whole event was uniquely organized by ICYM and YCS.

The evening began with a prayer song by Pangla Parish Choir followed by a prayer dance by little kids of Marian Sodality. Nihal Allen Dias, ICYM President accorded a warm welcome to all present on the occasion.

Loads of entertainment items were then presented by all associations of parish. The most well presented programs were skits and tableaus based on biblical themes and also a few hilarious skits on social issues which were thoroughly enjoyed by all present on the occasion. The hilarious comedy skit by ICYM members enthralled the audience.

On the occasion, Ren Dias, a state level cricket champion, coach of Indian Cricket under 21, 19 and 14 was felicitated on the occasion. The students of St. John’s Educational Institutions who exelled in SSLC and PUC exams 2016-17 were felicitated with the mementos.

Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves, Fr. Vincent Coelho, Fr. Royson Fernandes delivered apt messages on the occasion.

The grand entertaining program concluded with vote of thanks. The program was conducted by emcee of the day Nikita and Ornel.
