Youth of ICYM Mangalore Diocese celebrate 'Youth Sunday' in Unique Ways

Mangaluru, Aug 20 : The National Youth Sunday was celebrated on 14th August 2022 across India. The theme for the National Youth Sunday 2022 was : “Mary rose up and went with haste” (Lk 1:39).

ICYM Youth of the Diocese celebrated National Youth Sunday on 14th of August in unique ways to show their unity and faith in the Almighty by celebrating Holy Eucharistic celebration, clean-up initiatives, sharing joy among youth, visiting elderly and sick people of the parish and also conducted various programmes to mark this auspicious occasion.

On 15th of August, Executive members of ICYM Mangalore Diocese visited the Oncology ward of Fr Muller Hospital , Kankanady. Diocesan Director Rev Fr Ashwin Cardoza, President Anil Sequeira, Secretary Nishal Preemal Dsouza and other executive members were also present during the visit.

A unique program was conducted by the youth of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Gantalkatte in collaboration with YCS. They enacted the Street play 'ಕೊಂಕ್ಣಿ ಮ್ಹಜೊ ಫುಡಾರ್’ to commemorate Konkani Manyatha Divas which will be celebrated on 20th August. The play is Written by Mr Arun Raj, Directed by Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza and enacted by the Members of ICYM and YCS members.
