Mangaluru, May 2 : The Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore celebrated the perpetual profession of 21 Sisters on 2nd May 2022 at St Joseph the Worker Church Vamanjoor. It was held at 9.30am with the Eucharistic celebration.

After an intense preparation of one year 21 Sisters offered themselves to the Lord belonging to 16 Dioceses and 9 states of India. Rt Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha the Bishop of Mangalore officiated the Eucharist along with 21 priests. In his Homily he highlighted the aspect of Consecration and dedication to the service of the Lord through humanity.

Rev Sr Rose Celine BS, the Superior General of the Congregation accepted the vows of the Sisters in the name of the Church. Sr Anitha Nathalia BS expounded the perpetual Profession ceremony. Sr Anna Maria BS expressed her sentiments of gratitude after the Eucharistic celebration. It was followed by a felicitation programme in the Church hall. The perpetually professed Sisters were greeted in the presence of their parents and relatives. The Superior General thanked their parents for their gift to Bethany. These sisters belong to different provinces.

Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province welcomed the gathering and Sr Jasmine Wilma BS compeered the felicitation programme. Few of the perpetually professed Sisters thanked Superior General, sisters, parents and relatives at the end of the felicitation programme in different languages. The fellowship meal was served on the occasion. Indeed it was a joyful occasion to witness the commitment of the Sisters in the service of the Church and humanity through Bethany.
