Mogarnad, March 10 : Amidst the tranquil setting of Mogarnad's Mother of God Church, a historic moment unfolded on March 3rd, 2024. As the Lenten season commenced, the Deva Matha Youth Movement (ICYM) in collaboration with the Indian Catholic Youth Movement, St John Paul II Deanery, orchestrated the first-ever Taizé Prayer Session in Mogarnad. Faith followers from across the deanery gathered at 6:30 pm to partake in this transformative spiritual experience.

The prayer service, spearheaded by Fr. Suraj Lobo, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, was accompanied by the renowned Blue Angels Choir, led by Mr. Denzil Pereira Neermarga. Through a meditative format encompassing repetitive chants, simple melodies, scripture readings, and moments of silence, attendees were enveloped in a contemplative atmosphere conducive to prayer and introspection.

The session offered a unique spiritual encounter, uniting participants in a shared journey of connection with the divine. Through the universal language of music and prayer, barriers dissolved, fostering a deep sense of communion among diverse attendees. The serene ambiance of the church provided a sanctuary for those seeking solace and renewal amid the hustle of daily life.

In essence, the Taizé Prayer Session served as a poignant reminder of the profound significance of the Lenten season, inviting all present to embark on a journey of spiritual growth and rediscovery of faith. As participants departed, they carried with them a renewed sense of closeness to Jesus, marking the beginning of a transformative Lenten journey for the community.
