Bantwal, Dec 30, 2023 : On account of Christmas, ICYM unit of Christ the King Church, Manela took initiative of Christmas Star making under the guidance of Parish priest Fr Nelson Olivera, Under the leadership of President Sachin Dsouza, undertook the making of the Christmas Star.

On 24th December at church ground after the Evening mass, wherein the ICYM members conducted programmes for people's entertainment purpose.

The programme began with a prayer song led by the YCS Manela unit. After that cultural programme was started. The ICYM members gave opportunities to all the ward members to perform some cultural programmes and also gave them a chance to showcase their talents.

On the same Evening, they also conducted a lucky Family draw and 'Rooster' auction which was done for the purpose of fundraising for the ICYM unit. The programme ended with lunch.

Various Christmas competitions for the parishioners

On account of Christmas, ICYM Manela conducted various Christmas competitions for all parishioners during the advent season.

Advent wreath making competition was conducted on 17th December.

Christmas greeting card making competition for all the students from 3rd standard to YCS on account of Christmas on 17th December.

The Christmas Star making Competition was held on 24th December.

Rules were stated with respect to each of the competitions. All the participants took part enthusiastically and used their creativity and innovative ideas to come up with their respective artefacts . The competition was judged on the basis of Originality, Creativity, Neatness, Message and Overall presentation.

The winners and the participants were appreciated with prizes on 24th December.
