Belthangady, Aug 27 : Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation once said, “To forget how to dig the earth and tend the soil is to forget ourselves.” Mother nature provides so many resources to the common man that it is inevitable that we give her back something good.
Indian Catholic Youth Movement Venur unit organised a sapling planting event on 21st August 2022 at the surroundings of Christ the King church, Venur. The president of this event was Rev. Fr Peter Aranha, the Parish Priest of Christ the King church, Venur. The chief guests of this event were Sr. Anitha, the Lady Animator of the ICYM Venur Unit, and Mr. Arun Dsouza, the Animator of ICYM Venur Unit. Mr Shaun Serrao, the President & Ms. Veena Corda, the Secretary of ICYM Venur unit were also present on this occasion.
Secretary, Ms Veena Corda welcomed the gathering, and the members of the ICYM Venur unit proceeded with the planting of the saplings. Also, fellow parishioners lend a hand in this program with their active support and coordination.
