Mangalore, Jan 27, 2011 : Republic Day programme was organized as Snehasadan completed a decade of service to the HIV/AIDS infected and affected people, at Gurupura, Kaikamba, here on Wednesday, January 26.

The programme commenced with a prayer dance by children of Snehasadan. Fr Antony George, director of Snehasadan welcomed the guests and invitees present for the programme.

The activity report of Snehasadan was released by Fr Paul Rego, parish priest of Pompei Church, Gurupura. Fr John Mendonsa, vicar of Pezar deanery was the chief guest of the celebration.

Fr Reji provincial vicar Camillians India, Sr Catherine superior Jeevadan community and Sr Helen B S Rosa Mystica convent were the guests of honour on the occasion.

Dr Ravi Vaswani, Eugene Rent, senior staffs Kashiraj and Prema Pinto were honoured as part of the programme.

The children of Snehasadan, Jeevadan and St Camillus brothers actively took part in cultural programme. Br Bobin proposed the vote of thanks. Prameela and Shivaraj compered the programme.

About Snehasadan

Snehasadan was established in the year 2001 to provide support and care exclusively for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV). At present, Snehasadan has 65 beds facility for the patients including 35 children. It provided care for 450 people living with HIV in 2010. The counselling services were offered to around 375 families and 700 individuals. Approximately 1,700 individuals visited Snehasadan as part of their exposure visit from different educational institutions and faith based organisations.
