Mangaluru, Aug 2 : ICYM and YCS units of Holy Cross Church, Cordel held "Gadyanth Ek Dees (A Day in the Paddy Field event)" for all the members on July 30th, 2023, at Mr. Praveen Rego's field, Niddel.

With the theme Gadyanth Ek Dees - "Gadyak devyam, Mathi molyam. Krishye kushin disht lavyam", the youth looked forward to a day filled with fun , learning and togetherness.

The event began at 2pm in the afternoon. With an enthusiastic spirit, the members put their hands together in sowing paddy at the field with the help of the field owner Mr. Praveen Rego's guidance.

Running race and Tug of war were held for both boys and girls. All the participants were given snacks and the event concluded with a baila dance. The  Assistant Directors of ICYM and YCS Fr.Paul Dsouza and Fr.Ivan Corderio were present and actively took part in the event.

The president of ICYM Jeevan Lobo thanked Mr. Praveen Rego for his generous action of letting the youth use the field for the event. It was a glorious experience worth being dirty for.
