Mangaluru, July 06 : “Today’s children are a treasure for tomorrow – a treasure of values, of goodness and spiritual goals. The Holy Childhood Association aims at this goal to make them men and women committed to serve and love their neighbor"

The Holy Childhood Association was installed on 3rd July, 2022 in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga.

The auspicious event commenced with a Prayer Song imploring God the Almighty to Guide and Strengthen His Children in time of uncertainty, frustration and trial. Mr. Ivan D Souza Member of Commission for Evangelization and Proclamation extended an affable, hospitable, warm and cordial welcome to Rev Fr. Rupesh Raveen Tauro, Assistant Director, St. Antony Ashram and Diocesan Coordinator of Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization, Rev Fr. Anil Canute D Mello- Parish Priest , Brother Rakesh Francis, Mr. Ravi Saldanha and Mr. Prakash Pereira – Vice President & Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Maurice Renjal – Parish Coordinator of 21 Commissions, Mrs. Wilma D Souza – Coordinator of Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization through his sweet flowing words. 

Rev Fr. Anil D Mello in his inspirational address explained the ways and means of how children could become vibrant evangelizers and a missionary in everyday activities. He underlined Christ Like Ministry - Prophetic, Priestly and Kingly. Rev Fr Rupesh Raveen Tauro, traced the History, Growth and Progress, Aims, Goals and Objectives, the two very important disciplines — Prayer and Offering, Pledge of an Association Member, Model for the Meeting , Activities of Missionary Childhood Association through PPT. He lauded the efforts, initiative and enthusiasm of Rev Fr. Anil in starting the Association in the Parish.

100 children participated in this great event. Ms. Rashmi Mascarenhas compered the programme.

During the Holy Eucharistic Celebration that ensued, Holy Childhood Association was inaugurated by unveiling its Motto, "Children Helping Children" by Rev Fr. Anil D Mello, Rev Fr Rupesh Tauro , Brother Rakesh Francis , Mr. Ravi Saldanha, Mr. Prakash Pereira, Mr. Maurice Renjal , Mrs. Wilma D Souza. The inspirational messages, thought provoking reflections in the Light of the Day’s Word of God by Rev Fr Rupesh Tauro helped the congregation to look at life from a refreshingly new perspective. Under the able guidance of the Parish Priest the children led the assemblage with meaningful Liturgy.
