Mangaluru, April 26 : ICYM Episcopal City Deanery organized Inter-Parish Badminton Tournament - ECD CUP – 2021 for the Catholic Community of Mangalore Diocese on 18th April 2021 at Fr Muller Indoor Stadium from 8:30AM onwards. Inaugural program began with Prayer song led by Dheeraj Lobo and team.

The President of the inaugural ceremony was Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza – Bishop Emeritus Mangalore Diocese, Chief guests were V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro - Vicar Forane, Episcopal City Deanery and Mr. John Errol Samuel the Patron Sponsor of the tournament, Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes - Administrator Fr Muller’s Medical College, Rev. Fr. Anil Pinto - Director ICYM Episcopal City Deanery, Delitia Pereira – President ICYM Episcopal City Deanery, Sonali Rodrigues – Secretary ICYM Episcopal City Deanery, Sanjay D’Souza – Convenor ECD CUP-2021 were present on the dais.

Delitia Pereira welcomed the guests and the gathering. V. Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro in his message wished everyone good luck for the success of the event. Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza - Bishop Emeritus and Mr. John Errol Samuel Patron Sponsor of the tournament were felicitated by the dignitaries on the dais and Fr Anil Pinto – Director ICYM ECD spoke a few words about them. Bishop Emeritus in the Presidential address encouraged everyone to organise such programs. Trophies were unveiled by the dignitaries on the dais. Inaugural ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Sonali Rodrigues and mementos were given to the Dignitaries by Fr Anil Pinto. Total of 190 teams participated in the tournament. Priests from Mangalore Diocese also took part in the tournament. 

There were 10 referees for the tournament. Mr Chandrashekar was the main referee.

Valedictory program commenced at 6:30PM and was presided over by Rev Fr Ashwin Cardoza – Director ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese and Mr. John Errol Samuel the Patron Sponsor of the tournament, Rev Fr Anil Pinto – Director ICYM ECD, Delitia Pereira – President ICYM ECD, Sonali Rodrigues – Secretary ICYM ECD, Sanjay D’Souza – Convener ECD CUP-2021 were present on the dais. Delitia Pereira gave a memento to Rev Fr Ashwin Cardoza – Director ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese. Mr John Errol Samuel the Patron Sponsor of the tournament spoke a few words. As a token of gratitude, mementos were given to the referees by Rev. Fr. Anil Pinto. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners up by Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza and Mr. John Errol Samuel. Fr. Anil Pinto thanked everyone for their support in making this tournament a successful one. 

Valedictory program was concluded with vote of thanks by Sanjay D’Souza – Convener ECD CUP-2021 and Vice President ICYM ECD. Edreena – Milagres compered the inaugural and valedictory programs.
