Mangaluru, Jul 19 : The Commission for Ecology in association with Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) and Young Christian Students (YCS) celebrated "Vanamahotsava For Nature" on 17th July 2022 at 8:00am, in the premises of St Francis Xavier's Church, Bejai.

The Ecology Commission Convener Mr Lawrence Dsouza, Gurkar of Kapikad Lower ward, The Parish Priest Fr JB Saldhana, The Asst Parish priest Fr Suraj Lobo, The Vice president of PPP Ashok Pinto, the Secretary of PPP Preethi Gomes, Br Avith Pais, Br Kanikya Swami, Deacon Jaison Pais SJ, ICYM Animator Rohan Sequeira, YCS Animators Sr Nisha Dsouza and Alisha Rego, ICYM President Carol Santhumayor ,YCS President Ashley Pinto and the members of ICYM and YCS were present for this program.

The planting of saplings was started with a short and sweet talk by Fr JB Saldhana where he spoke about the importance of the day and started planting the saplings followed by all the members there. Pictures were clicked to cherish this moment. Together the members planted 4 different types of saplings at different places in and around the church campus in the cemetery.

This Vanamahotsav was a step taken to take care of our mother earth.
