Mangaluru, Sep 13 : The Parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church Urwa gathered in the church premises to celebrate the Family Feast on Sunday 11th September 2022. The celebration began at 3.30 p.m. Class wise fun and lucky games were conducted for the children. For elders there were games like shotput, breaking the pot and bombing the city. Parishioners participated in various games with zeal and enthusiasm. Food stall was arranged by YCS and ICYM members.

Soon after the fun games Parishioners gathered in the church hall for a cultural programme. The programme began with a prayer dance. Rev. Fr. Johnson Pereira welcomed the gathering. The programme like dances, skits, comedy plays by children, YCS/ICYM members and elders entertained the audience.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. Parish Priest Rev Fr. Benjamin Pinto in his message told the importance of unity among Parishioners in an extended family called Parish. Parish Priest along with Fr. Johnson Pereira, Fr. Henry Sequeira, PPC President Mr. Lloyd Lobo, secretary Mrs. Lucy D’Souza, convener of 21 commissions Mr. Kevin Martis, superior of Lady hill convent and ward gurkars offered flowers to Infant Mary.

‘Payasam (Vorn)’ mixed with blessed corn was served to the Parish community, who savoured it with a sense of festal joy. Mrs. Lucy D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Rosita Sequeira and Master Clement Mascarenhas compered the programme. The programme ended with orchestra and dance from the youth.
