Mangaluru, Aug 16 : Urwa church centenary hall which wears a magnificent new look after the much-awaited redesigning was inaugurated on 14th August 2022 at 6.00 p.m. The renovated Hall was inaugurated by Msgr Leslie Shenoy. Msgr Maxim Noronha, the vicar general of Mangalore Diocese blessed the hall.

The YCS members invoked God's blessings on the programme with a beautiful prayer song.

Rev. Fr Benjamin Pinto, Parish Priest extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the participants. Fr Johnson Pereira, Assistant Parish Priest of Urwa and Fr Henry Sequeira, Socius were also present.

Msgr Maxim Noronha speaking on the occasion appreciated the renovation work.

The guests included V. Rev. Fr. Walter DMello, Judicial Vicar of the diocese; V. Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, Former Parish Priest of Urwa and presently Parish Priest of Bela and Dean of Kasargod deanery and Fr Shaun Rodrigues, Professor, St Joseph's Seminary. Mr Lloyd Lobo, the Vice President and Mrs Lucy Dsouza, the Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council respectively, Kevin Martis, convener of Parish commissions, Members of the finance committee, members of Parish council, Parishioners and well-wishers were present on the occasion.

The donors for renovation of the hall were honoured on this occasion. The main architect of the renovation, Mr. Deepak Dsouza, was honoured at this event. The ICYM members presented a beautiful dance and entertained the audience. The entire programme was compered by Mrs. Lucy Dsouza. Mr Lloyd Lobo proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with a 'lighting display'.
