Kasaragod, Sep 28 : ICYM unit of  Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Ukkinadka, on the occasion of Onam, organized "Onam Celebration 2K22" on 18th September 2022 at the church premises. The event began with the mass at 8:30 AM followed by breakfast to all the people.

Thereafter various games were conducted for the parishioners on this occasion such as Chocolate picking, Potato gathering, Lemon & spoon Race, Balloon Bursting, Tug of war, Breaking the pot etc.  

At 12:30 PM the stage programme began. MC for the programme was Lavita Dsouza. Prayer was led by ICYM members. President Ashwitha Crasta welcomed the guests florally. The dignitaries for the ceremony were Fr  Willson Lobo - Parish Priest, Mr. Vinod Kumar - Sub Inspector of Badiadka Police Station, Mrs. Jyothi Karyad - member of Badiadka panchayat, Mrs. Neetha Crasta - Parish secretary, Ms. Jesmitha Monteiro - ICYM Kasaragod deanery secretary, Mr. Roshan Maniyampare - ICYM Kasaragod Deanery joint secretary, Mr. Delwin Maniyampare - ICYM Kasaragod deanery past president, Ms. Joslin Ashwitha - ICYM president Ukkinadka and Mr. Joyston - ICYM secretary Ukkinadka.

The dignitaries lit up the Lamp and inaugurated the ceremony. Chief Guest for the ceremony was Mr. Vinod Kumar  , Sub Inspector of Badiadka Police Station. He spoke about the importance and history of the Onam celebration and also gave a message about the present condition of  youth and children and also spoke about Drug abuse and alcoholism.

Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the games and mementos for all the sponsors of the event. Lucky Dip draw was also conducted.

After the prize distribution, Joyston , secretary, ICYM Ukkinadka proposed Vote of Thanks. After the formal program, cultural programmes were conducted. Onam sadhya was served to all the gathering at the end of the programme.
