Moodbidri, Dec 17 : St Ignatius Loyola Church, Paladka in the Moodbidri deanery completed 100 years of its existence and a grand finale of the jubilee was celebrated from 15th to 17th, December  2013.

On December 15, new Belfry was inaugurated and blessed by V. Rev. Msgr. Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of Mangalore. This was followed by Eucharistic mass of this celebration where Vical General was the main celebrant. After this, 'Sarva Dharma Sahamilana' was held and founder donors of the church were honoured namely, Kemar Paradkar, Kadandale guttu and Mundrude guttu families. 'Saarvajanika Annasantharpane' (Fellowship meals) was served to all people who attended the event. There were cultural programmes and prize distribution in the evening.

On the second day of the Centenary Jubilee celebration on Dec 16, Parishioners welcomed Archbishop of Bangalore, Most. Rev. Dr. Bernad Moras. Inauguration and blessing of Adoration Chapel was done by the Archbishop. This was followed by Eucharistic mass where Archbishop was the main celebrant. After the mass, religious leaders and donors were felicitated. Lunch was served to all the gathering. There were cultural programmes in the evening.

On the final day on Dec 17, a warm welcome was given by the parishioners to Bishop of Mangalore, Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza. The renovated church was blessed by the Bishop. This was followed by Eucharistic mass where Bishop was the main celebrant. After the mass, inauguration of Community Hall was done by the Bishop and Mr. Abhaychandra Jain, Minister of Karnataka Govt. Thereafter it was blessed by the Bishop.

Later there was a stage programme where donors were felicitated. Fellowship meals were served to all the gathering after the felicitation program. There were cultural programmes in the evening. At the end of this three days Centenary Jubilee celebration ceremony, crackers show was held.

On 14th Dec, there was 'Hore Kaanike' procession where Catholics and non Catholics offered vivid raw materials showing their unity and brotherhood towards the Paladka Church. The Procession was held at 2pm with the vehicles carrying raw food materials, ward wise traditionally. The streets were beautifully decorated by the faithful of the Church.
