Moodbidri, Aug 29 : The parishioners of St. Francis Xavier parish , Saverapura along with parish priest Rev Fr Prem Prakash Cutinha welcomed the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha on Sunday, 28th August 2022 at 7.30am for the Pastoral visit.

The Bishop then interacted with the parishioners and conducted catechism for them. This was followed by holy mass where Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha was the main celebrant whereas parish priest Rev Fr Prem Prakash Cutinha, Redemptorist Rector Rev Fr Rakesh Mathias, Redemptorist priest Rev Fr Dony Cardoza and Bishop's Secretary Rev Fr Thrishan D'Souza concelebrated.

Later the Bishop visited the cemetery, blessed and offered prayers for the departed souls. The Bishop also met the seminarians' parents and representatives from various Associations of the Parish.

In the evening at 4pm, the Bishop participated in the small christian community meeting of Christ King ward and thereby concluded the visit.

The Pastoral visit was a unique experience for the entire parish, which enabled the people to express their faith and belongingness to the Church.
